Stephan-A-Thon Success

On May 4th, one of our board members, Stephan Choe set out to complete his 4th marathon and invited supporters to make a pledge for every mile that he completed.

Stephan started pretty fast. (He finished the first half in 1:48:02!) But when it got warmer, Stephan started cramping and his body started to shut down around mile 18.

At mile 23, Stephan saw his family faithfully waiting for him. At that moment, a pacer came by and asked Stephan’s son Sean whether he wanted to join in finishing the race. Sean was so kind to run the last 3 miles with Stephan (5K) even though he had already run the 5K earlier that morning. It was a great way to finish a challenging race with Sean!

With 26 pledges and 26.2 miles completed, Stephan raised $3,716!

All proceeds go towards equipping locally-led, long lasting youth ministry in Pine Ridge, SD.
