Closing Prayer

2024 Pine Ridge Vision Visit - Conclusion

Over the last three days, we spent time in mutual encouragement with our current ministry partners, like Henry Brown, Lorraine Green, Cyndi Crawford, and Jenaya Newhouse; We reconnected with Lakota youth and families that members of our team have gotten to know over the years like Gabby, Chantelle, and Michelle; We got to know more local, long-term missionaries like Abram, Pastor Ken, Pastor Eric, and Pastor Leon.

In light of what God showed us on this trip, would you pray with us:

We worship you O, Lord!

You are holy and almighty. Your covenantal promises are unchanging and your purposes are unfailing. You did not design this unjust world, but created it for so much more than what we have made it.

We see how sin has broken and distorted our relationship with you, our identity, those around us, and the systems in our world. As we seek to grow this ministry, forgive us for the ways we fall short - whether it is by giving into our fear of failure, our impatience to see change, our desire for self validation, or our tendency towards discouragement and complacency.

We have little to offer on our own, but with the work of the Holy Spirit, we pray our ministry will be used in alignment with your will, through your redemptive work in our own lives, and in thanksgiving for the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus.

And there is so much to be thankful for. We thank you for your provision and safety on our trip. We thank you for how you have broadened our understanding of how you are indeed at work in the homes, classrooms, churches, and streets of Pine Ridge. And we are thankful for the prayer that has covered us from our EW supporters.

We now lift up those who you have called to minister in Pine Ridge and know that you hear their prayer and intercede.

For Henry, we thank you for providing for his health needs. Even as ministry can shift and change in seasons of recovery, may you assure him that you are walking with him and the children that he cares for. Be his stronghold as he continues to place his trust in you wherever you lead him.

For Abram, we thank you for providing him with more workers who can cover more shifts at the homeless ministry. May you continue to use his humble care to reveal yourself to the most vulnerable and at-risk.

For Pastor Ken, we thank you for his faithful teaching and stewardship of the Gospel. May those that commit their lives to following Jesus grow in faith and experience the transformative power of the Holy Spirit in their lives and their community, as they find deep root in scripture, prayer, and fellowship.

For Pastor Eric, Pastor Leon, and the families at the Oglala ReCreation and Worship Center, we thank you for their vision for Oglala and their partnership and expansion of Oyate Hope Academy. We ask that you would meet their need for committed youth pastors, classroom teachers, and recreational ministry leaders with hearts to serve.

For Jenaya, we thank you for her love for her students and how she has walked with you in her classroom and in her studies. Would you relieve her fatigue and provide rest and recovery. Grant her perseverance as the finish line to her graduation is near.

For Cyndi, we thank you for her testimony of courage and faith that points to your goodness. May the horses and children that are in Cyndi’s care experience your love and tenderness. In the moments of isolation, grant her the assurance and joy of your presence and purpose in her life.

For Lorraine, we thank you for her obedience to your calling in making disciples of all nations. May you continue to bless others through her teaching and training. May others experience the same hospitality, loving kindness, and encouragement from the word.

Lord, we ask for wisdom in the relational work that you have called us to and that you would open our eyes to more opportunities to see one another again.

It is in your name we pray,

Amen.
