Our Start

Eagles’ Wings (formally Eagles’ Wings - The Henry Brown Christian Youth Foundation) was started in August 2021.  As our name suggests, we are deeply inspired by the example of Henry Brown - a Lakota man who has been serving the youth population of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation for over 30 years. 

Our beginning was humble - just 6 friends who wanted to help out the Pine Ridge in some small way.  We did not have a clear sense of what we wanted to do or where we were going, but we created the non-profit in faith that the path would soon be revealed. We started small - inviting a group of Lakota youth to visit in Pine Ridge, SD alongside Henry. We are thankful to keep in contact and support these youth today through friendships and personal relationships.

After a year of prayer and refining our vision, Eagles’ Wings was officially launched in November 2022 with the vision of equipping locally-led, long-lasting youth ministry in Pine Ridge, SD. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we were able to launch into our first year of operation with over $10,000.

Eagles’ Wings today focuses on investing into current ministry leaders, enabling them to dream about where their ministries could go or what their ministries could do. We are extremely grateful for the passionate, humble, God-honoring partners we work with today, and look forward to those we will have the privileged opportunity to work with in the future. We have great hope in the path that is being set before us to follow - we sincerely hope you will join us along the way.
