Leadership Retreat Feb 4
Our second day began early with our team traveling to Love INC (Love In the Name of Christ).
Lorraine had helped us find this organization, which provided a beautiful space for our training completely free of charge. Praise God for the network of partners He provides! (Visit https://loveinconline.com/ to learn more about Love INC.)
In this space, we began the day with worship and followed with a morning of breakout workshops.
Lorraine, our Eagles’ Wings partner and advisor with 30+ years as head of TEAM Missions in Africa, provided the Chicago team and another Pine Ridge ministry partner, Jenaya, with training on effective and spirit-led cross-cultural ministry.
At the same time, Joe facilitated a space where Henry, Brad, Patty, McKinley, and Chantelle crafted a unified vision for the Kids Time ministry.
Kids Time Vision: A safe place for our kids to play, connect, and grow together - committed to helping our kids reach their dreams and goals.
We all regrouped in the afternoon where Jenny led us in an active listening and storytelling workshop and Joe facilitated a trust and collaboration exercise -- two essential skill sets for youth ministers to develop together.
Our official training ended with commissioning and prayer.
With each of our local ministry partners paired with Eagles’ Wings board members and advisors, we came together acknowledging our dependence on a God, and thanking Him for a day that had brought us to tears in laughter, joy, and oneness in spirit.
The rest of the evening, we all piled together in a 15-passenger van and navigated Rapid City’s busiest tourist weekend in a quest for dinner! After many 2-hour waitlists, we enjoyed a culinary experience at HuHot Mongolian Grill, paid for by one of our generous board members.
With full hearts and bellies, we settled in for the evening before our last full day
